On Sunday, October 18, we held the first major event of this year's community service program. Media came from as far away as Ramallah to see us take a big step towards helping our kids take responsibility for their community and their environment.

The entire PBS family, students and staff alike, trekked to "Jamal Abdul Naser" park in the center of town, where we spent most of the day cleaning up. The weather was hot and sunny day but our students perservered and by the time they finished, 107 bags of trash had been collected and Our students removed almost a ton of trash and, more importantly, saw a concrete demonstration of the difference they can make. The clean up was followed by a picnic and some games.

A television crew returned to the school with us and shot some extra footage to round out their report.
