Olympic Games
This week we kicked off two week festival of sports known as the Pioneers Olympics. The Olympics are an annual favorite of our students. This year, the opening ceremonies were held on March 15, 2009. Highlights of the opening ceremonies were the Human Olympic Rings (first grade) speeches by Waleed Titi and third grade Omar, and a heartrending rendition of Don't Cry, performed by Ahmed Kharouf, Jihad Jitan, and Noor Maslamani. The inaugural day was capped off by the first ever Pioneers Marathon. Designed and planned by the Scientists, Journalists, Authors and Community Servants Class, the marathon was won by Zakariya from Ms. Zeina's class. Zakariya was the first ever gold medal winner in the Pioneers Olympics. Yusuf Kemal won the silver medal and Rawya Abu Rabee won the bronze. All of the students made us proud and many parents joined us to cheer on their children. |
